Businesses across categories have been decimated in Hong Kong. Political and social turmoil pushed the territory into recession and it has now been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Trade and commerce is the lifeblood of Hong Kong, but brands and retailers are having to get very creative.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Chanel is launching an online pop-up store that will run until the end of the year and includes a selection of makeup, fragrance, and skincare. The home page reads “Chanel is celebrating all moms with a selection of gifts just for them.” As the state of retail remains, uncertain brands are being forced to create digital experiences and leverage e-commerce to drive revenue.

Launched in Hong Kong, the new platform highlights new products and limited online exclusives along with hero products like Chanel N°5, a range of Rouge Allure Velvet lipsticks, and the Hydra Beauty skincare collection. Quirky illustrations add an element of fun to the online shopping experience.
